"Taylor Swift" The album

In 2006 on October 24, Taylor Swift debuted with her first ever album "Taylor Swift". It was her first-ever self-titled album. This album included 15 songs. Most of her songs went to the top of the charts, which really rocketed her career. Some of the songs included in this album were Tear Drops on My GuitarPicture to Burn, and Our Song

After her album debuted Taylor went on tour for 6 months. This is what allowed her to gain popularity all around the United States. Her album spent 24 weeks at number one on the Top Country Albums. Because of this album, Taylor was also nominated for Album of the Year at the 2008 Academy of Country Music.

Her debut album "Taylor Swift" is inspired by her life experiences as a teenager. Her songs are about her friendships, romantic relationships, and trying to figure out her teenage feelings. Her inspiration for this album came from her true feelings and emotions. Since many of her songs came from moments that she was currently in she said, "I wrote songs from any time to anywhere, from studio sessions to school breaks."

She wrote the album from the perspective of a girl in a small town. The experiences come from her time in high school and the time she spent with friends outside. Most of her songs are based on romantic relationships. Taylor said "I wrote it about this guy I was dating, and how we didn't have a song. So, I went ahead and wrote us one" about her billboard hit "Our Song".

Not only is her song about past relationships but also about Taylor's insecurities about herself. She expressed in many different songs her feelings of frustration that she doesn't belong and loneliness.

Taylor Swift is very good at not only expressing herself through her music but also being able to connect with her audience. That is why her first album did so good. Because many girls at that time were able to feel and connect with what Taylor was saying.
