1989 (Taylor's Version)

Taylor Swift has just recently released 1989 (Taylor's Version), on October 27th. Swifties have been counting down the days for her to release this album since she announced it at her Eras Tour on April 9th in Los Angeles. This is Taylor's fourth re-recorded album. The album is titled 1989 because Taylor Swift was born in 1989. The standard edition of the album has twenty-one songs, that contain five "From the Vault" songs that have not been released yet. There is also a deluxe edition with a re-recorded remix of "Bad Blood" which features Kendrick Lamar. 1989 (Taylor's Version) has broken records including Spotify's biggest streaming day for an album in 2023 and the record for streaming on Amazon Music.

The "From the Vault" songs for 1989 (Taylor's Version) include, "Stay Don't Go", "Slut!", "Now That We Don't Talk", "Is It Over Now?", and "Suburban Legends". These songs were what Swifties were most excited about. Taylor Swift's unreleased songs have been successful from all three of her re-released albums. The song "Stay Don't Go" is a high-drama song about intense feelings toward someone else who is leaving. "Now That We Don't Talk" is about Taylor's heartache. "Is It Over Now?" is about the end of a relationship and confessions about what was felt during the bad memories of the relationship. Attached below is the lyric video. "Slut!" is a reference to slut-shaming Taylor has experienced. Also, the song explains how she is proud of the relationship she is in but is not sure what her audience thinks about it. "Suburban Legends" is about a hopeful and not enjoyable relationship Taylor has had.

1989 (Taylor's Version) is a pop album that contains upbeat songs. Three of the most iconic songs include, "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood." All these songs have reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Originally the album 1989 was Taylor's fifth studio album made. Recently, she has been re-recording her albums to completely own her music because her first six albums were owned by a record label. 1989 (Taylor's Version) sold 250,000 albums on its release day on October 27th. The album continued to rise in popularity and by the fifth day over one million albums were sold. The vinyl sales went up that week from the fans wanting to play her songs on a record player or just have for a collectible item.

Swifties have become obsessed with Taylor's surprises of the new albums she re-recorded and the "Taylor's Version" songs. Fans infer that her album Reputation will be the next "Taylor's Version" album she will release. The difference between the original 1989 album released in 2014 and the 1989 (Taylor's Version) album is that Taylor's voice is much stronger in the new album because she is older. Swift planned to release the new album nine years later on the same October 27th date. There is also the feature with Kendrick Lamar and the "From the Vault" songs that differentiate the album from the original. Taylor Swift continues to impress fans with her power to keep her audience wanting more with her album releases.
